Istanbul's June inflation figures announced

According to data released by the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, retail prices in Istanbul rose by 1.14 percent monthly in June. The annual increase rate was 35.94 percent, while the monthly rise in wholesale prices was 3 percent.

Istanbul's June inflation figures announced

The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) has announced the retail and wholesale price data for June 2026. According to the data, while consumer prices in Istanbul continued to rise in June, notable increases were also recorded in wholesale prices.

CONSUMER PRICES ROSE BY 1.14 PERCENT IN JUNE

According to the data published by the ITO, the Istanbul Consumer Price Index, which is considered an indicator of retail price movements in Istanbul, increased by 1.14 percent in June 2026 compared to the previous month.

The annual change in the index was 35.94 percent. Thus, consumer prices in Istanbul showed an increase of approximately 36 percent compared to the same month last year.

3 PERCENT RISE IN WHOLESALE PRICES

The Wholesale Price Index, which reflects wholesale price movements, also recorded an increase in June.

The index, which rose by 1.58 percent in May, continued its upward trend by increasing by 3 percent in June.

While the rate of change in wholesale prices compared to the same month of the previous year was announced as 24.65 percent, the annual average increase rate was 22.71 percent.

When wholesale prices in June are examined by group, the highest increase was seen in the unprocessed materials group.

Compared to the previous month;

There was an increase of 8.18 percent in the unprocessed materials group,

3.23 percent in fuel and energy materials,

2.85 percent in food products,

0.79 percent in construction materials,

0.51 percent in the minerals group,

0.14 percent in chemical substances.

No price change was recorded in the textiles group in June.

MINERALS RANKED FIRST IN ANNUAL AVERAGE

According to ITO data, the highest increase on an annual average basis occurred in the minerals group.

As of June 2026, the annual average increase rates were as follows:

33.51 percent in the minerals group,

28.64 percent in construction materials,

26.93 percent in food products,

22.58 percent in fuel and energy materials,

15.97 percent in the textiles group,

14.97 percent in unprocessed materials,

9.77 percent in chemical substances.
