January champion among the 'Big Three' on Borsa Istanbul announced

While the sports index recorded an increase of 19.3 percent in January, sports companies pleased their investors.

Beşiktaş earned its investors 27.2 percent in the stock market in January compared to the previous month.

The club, which carried its successful performance in the stock market last year into the new year, had displayed the best annual performance of all time by gaining 621.6 percent in value in 2023.

FENERBAHÇE SHARES ROSE BY 21.2 PERCENT, GALATASARAY BY 14.1 PERCENT

During this period, shares of Fenerbahçe Futbol AŞ, which is at the top of the league, gained 21.2 percent in value, while shares of its co-leader Galatasaray Sportif Sınai ve Ticari Yatırımları gained 14.1 percent.

The performance of both clubs on the pitch and the turnaround of their balance sheets from loss to profit played a significant role in the rise of Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray shares. Fenerbahçe, which reported a loss of 278.7 million lira for the period of June 1, 2022–May 31, 2023, turned to a net profit of 663.4 million lira for the period of June 1, 2023–November 30, 2023.

TEAM WITH THE HIGHEST MARKET VALUE

Beşiktaş, the club with the highest market value among the 4 publicly traded sports companies, finished January with a market value of 13 billion 80 million lira.

Beşiktaş was followed by Fenerbahçe with a market value of 10 billion 967 million lira, Galatasaray with 7 billion 765 million lira, and Trabzonspor with 3 billion 900 million lira.
