July to be awaited for pension increases

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, who answered questions from members of the press following the Cabinet Meeting held under the chairmanship of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, made statements regarding pensions.

Minister Işıkhan stated that the issue of increasing the lowest pension will become clear on July 3, when the June inflation figures are announced.

Işıkhan said, "We will hold the necessary meetings under the chairmanship of our Minister of Treasury and Finance and Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz. Afterwards, the matter will be submitted to Parliament."

Furthermore, touching upon the negotiations for the Public Collective Bargaining Agreement Framework Protocol, which will determine the financial and social rights of approximately 600 thousand workers in the public sector, Işıkhan stated, "We will present our final offer to our unions through TÜHİS this week. I believe that an agreement will be reached at a reasonable point, God willing."
