June inflation figures for Istanbul announced
June inflation rates for Istanbul have been determined. According to the released data, retail prices increased by 1.77 percent, while annual inflation was recorded at 44.38 percent.
According to data from the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), retail prices in Istanbul rose by 1.77 percent in June 2025 compared to the previous month. On an annual basis, this increase was 44.38 percent.
The ITO's 2023=100 based Consumer Price Index showed a significant increase compared to June 2024.
INCREASE IN WHOLESALE PRICES
The Wholesale Price Index, which reflects wholesale price movements, increased by 1.93 percent in June 2025. Compared to the same month last year, this rate was 24.13 percent, while the annual average change was determined to be 37.36 percent. Increases of 6.92 percent were observed in the construction materials group, 3.06 percent in the minerals group, and 2.22 percent in the fuel and energy materials group.
RETAIL PRICES AND EXPENDITURE GROUPS
In Istanbul, housing expenditures saw the highest increase in June, rising by 2.70 percent. Household goods expenditures rose by 2.57 percent, restaurant and hotel expenditures by 1.98 percent, and food and non-alcoholic beverage expenditures by 1.93 percent. Entertainment and culture expenditures showed the lowest change, decreasing by 0.07 percent.
Market conditions were influential in price changes in Istanbul for groups such as housing, household goods, and restaurant-hotel expenditures. Seasonal changes played a significant role in food expenditures.
These data reveal the general trend of prices in Istanbul and the changes in expenditure groups.
