'The lowest pension will be 12,000 TL,' he announced on live broadcast...

Following the TÜİK data announced on July 3, all eyes turned to the raise announcement to be made by the government.

While the government, which was expected to make the announcement last week, will now announce it with a delay this week, reports from the corridors regarding retirees continue to emerge. In the first stage, the government, which was preparing to reflect the pension raise only on the base salary with an application similar to the one made last year, decided to also raise the lowest pension following the reactions from retirees.

"THE LOWEST PENSION WILL RISE TO 12,000 LIRA"

The government, which will not add any flat-rate raise or welfare share to the 24.73 percent raise rate finalized for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees, will implement a 20 percent increase in the lowest pension. Sharing the details on the matter, Atik said, "There will be an increase for retirees. It has been narrowed down to two options. The lowest pension will be raised to 12,000 TL or 12,500 TL. 3.2 million retirees will benefit from the 12,000 option, while 3.7 million retirees will benefit from the other."

TO BE ANNOUNCED ON MONDAY OR TUESDAY

Last week, AKP Group Chairman Abdullah Güler, in his speech regarding the raise to be made to the lowest pension, stated, "We will announce it at the beginning of next week." The raise agreement is expected to be announced to the public by President Erdoğan himself following the final meeting to be held with him.
