WHEN DID ERDOĞAN SAY THIS?
President Erdoğan said "Interest is the cause, inflation is the result" at his party's group meeting in 2018, and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) subsequently lowered interest rates.
Erdoğan's "discourse on extracting our minerals" regarding the 100th anniversary of the Republic was also quite a prominent topic at the time.
The phrase "I always buy 50 liras worth," which was frequently used among the public, has fallen out of use now that gasoline prices have reached 40.66.
