Manipulation allegations at BIST: 13 suspects at the courthouse
Thirteen suspects detained over allegations of performing manipulative transactions at Borsa Istanbul have been referred to the courthouse. The suspects will provide statements to the prosecutor's office on charges of "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes" and "market fraud."
The investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Bureau of Smuggling, Narcotics, and Economic Crimes into allegations of manipulative movements in certain capital market instruments traded on the BIST equity market continues.
Within the scope of the investigation, the police procedures for the 13 suspects, who were detained in Istanbul, Ankara, and Şanlıurfa during an operation conducted by the Istanbul Financial Crimes Investigation Branch teams on charges of "establishing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes" and "market fraud," have been completed.
Following health checks, the suspects were referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan.
The suspects' statement procedures at the prosecutor's office have begun.
