Margin trading restrictions imposed on Marmara Holding and Temapol shares
Borsa Istanbul has announced that a ban on margin trading will be applied to Marmara Holding and Temapol Polimer Plastik ve İnşaat Sanayi Ticaret shares for one month as part of the volatility-based measures system.
According to a new regulation announced to the public by Borsa Istanbul, significant measures have been implemented for two stocks included in the Volatility-Based Measures System (VBTS) within the framework of a decision taken by the Capital Markets Board (SPK). Accordingly, various restrictions, including a ban on margin trading, have been imposed on Marmara Holding and Temapol Polimer Plastik ve İnşaat Sanayi Ticaret shares, which trade under the tickers MARMR.E and TMPOL.E, effective from the start of the session on October 7, 2025, until the end of the session on November 6, 2025.
In line with the SPK decision, an order package measure is also coming into effect for the shares in question. Within this framework, the entry of "market orders and market-to-limit orders" will be restricted, and order cancellations, reductions in order quantities, and worsening of order prices will not be permitted. Additionally, the dissemination of order book information for the relevant shares is also among the restrictions.
These new restrictions imposed on the shares also encompass measures previously defined under the Volatility-Based Measures System, such as bans on short selling, gross settlement, and margin trading. These practices will remain in effect for the specified period. Borsa Istanbul officials have warned investors to be cautious regarding the measures taken.
In the statement made via the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), it was emphasized that within the scope of the measures shared to ensure investors do not experience issues during their transaction processes, existing restrictions will be maintained for a certain period alongside the newly adopted decisions.
