Mehmet Şimşek: 'A limited form of taxation may be possible'
Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek stated, "We have not currently placed taxation on earnings from crypto assets and the stock market on our agenda. A very limited form of taxation based on transactions may be possible."
Following claims that crypto assets and stock market transactions would be taxed, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek has issued a statement.
Şimşek said, "We have not currently placed taxation on earnings from crypto assets and the stock market on our agenda. A very limited form of taxation based on transactions may be possible.”
An economic official who provided information to Reuters had previously stated that work on implementing a transaction tax on the buying and selling of stocks and crypto assets had reached its final stage.
