Mehmet Şimşek on financing tour: Makes statements upon return from China

Mehmet Şimşek on financing tour: Makes statements upon return from China

Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek met with Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Guoqing in Beijing as part of the Turkey-China Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee meeting. 

During the meeting, significant steps were taken to improve economic cooperation between the two countries, and an agreement was reached to increase investments and strengthen collaboration in various fields such as infrastructure project financing, energy, tourism, civil aviation, and agriculture.

EMPHASIS ON TRADE PARTNERSHIP 

During the talks, the first meeting of the Joint Working Group for the harmonization of the Middle Corridor and China's Belt and Road Initiative was also held. Stating that China is Turkey's largest trading partner in Asia, Şimşek emphasized the importance of developing economic relations and ensuring a balanced trade structure.

These meetings, which aim to increase strategic cooperation between Turkey and China, have also opened the door to new opportunities for future joint projects and collaborations.

Şimşek's statements are as follows: 

We met with Chinese Vice Premier Mr. Zhang Guoqing in Beijing for the Turkey-China Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee meeting. 

We decided to increase investments between the two countries and to strengthen our cooperation in the fields of infrastructure investment financing, energy, tourism, civil aviation, and agriculture.

The first meeting of the Joint Working Group for the harmonization of the Middle Corridor and the Belt and Road Initiative was also held.

We aim to develop our economic relations with China, our largest trading partner in Asia, and to achieve a more balanced structure in trade.
