Midday in the markets: How did the stock exchange perform in the first half of the day?

As of 13:00, the index had decreased by 29.48 points compared to the previous close. The BIST 100 index, which closed at 7,818.89 points yesterday, started the day at 7,860.16 points with an increase of 41.27 points and 0.53 percent.

During the first half of the day, the index saw a low of 7,777.37 points and a high of 7,875.18 points.

In the first half of the day, the financial index gained 0.18 percent in value, while the services index lost 0.26 percent, the technology index lost 0.43 percent, and the industrial index lost 1.44 percent.

Compared to the previous close, 23 of the stocks included in the BIST 100 index rose, while 74 lost value in the first half of the day. The most actively traded stocks were Turkish Airlines, Yapı ve Kredi Bankası, Türkiye İş Bankası, Akbank, and VakıfBank.

As of 13:00, the simple yield of the benchmark bond maturing on October 1, 2025, traded in the Borsa Istanbul Debt Securities Market Outright Purchases and Sales Market, was at 36.77 percent, and the compound yield was at 40.15 percent.

In international markets, as of 13:00, the euro/dollar parity was at 1.0940, the sterling/dollar parity at 1.2730, and the dollar/yen parity at 143.98.

In the Istanbul free market, the dollar is being sold at 29.9390 liras and the euro at 32.8000 liras.

The ounce of gold is trading at 2036 dollars with a 0.4 percent increase in international markets, and a barrel of London Brent crude oil is trading at 77.3 dollars with a 1.2 percent increase.
