Midday in the markets: Latest status of the stock exchange, gold, euro, and dollar (June 20, 2024)

The BIST 100 index on Borsa Istanbul gained 1.60 percent in the first half of the day, while the dollar is trading at 32.6510 Turkish liras and the euro at 35.1280 Turkish liras in the Istanbul free market.

The stock market rose in the first half of the day.

As of 13:00, the index rose by 167.08 points and 1.60 percent compared to the previous close, reaching 10,638.40 points. The BIST 100 index, which closed at 10,471.32 points on Friday, started the day at 10,588.16 points with an increase of 116.84 points and 1.12 percent.

During the first half of the day, the index saw a low of 10,569.23 points and a high of 10,652.29 points.

In the first half of the day, the services index rose by 1.44 percent, the industrial index by 1.63 percent, the financial index by 1.65 percent, and the technology index by 2.07 percent.

Compared to the previous close, 78 of the stocks included in the BIST 100 index rose, while 20 lost value. The most actively traded stocks were Turkish Airlines, Ereğli Demir Çelik, Türkiye İş Bankası (C), Tüpraş, and Koç Holding.

GOLD OUNCE PRICE AT 2,335 DOLLARS

In international markets, as of 13:30, the euro/dollar parity is at 1.0730, the sterling/dollar parity is at 1.2710, and the dollar/yen parity is at 158.4.

In the Istanbul free market, the dollar is being sold at 32.6510 liras and the euro at 35.1280 liras.

The ounce of gold is trading at 2,335 dollars with a 0.3 percent increase in international markets, while a barrel of London Brent crude oil is trading at 84.6 dollars, showing a flat trend.
