Midday in the markets: Latest status of the stock market, gold, euro, and dollar (May 31, 2024)
The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul gained 1.46 percent in the first half of the day, rising to 10,634.06 points. In the Istanbul free market, the dollar is trading at 32.2240 liras and the euro at 34.9540 liras.

As of 13:00, the index increased by 152.76 points, or 1.46 percent, compared to the previous close, reaching 10,634.06 points. The BIST 100 index, which closed at 10,481.30 points yesterday, started the day at 10,519.11 points with an increase of 37.80 points, or 0.36 percent.
During the first half of the day, the index saw a low of 10,518.67 points and a high of 10,724.90 points.
In the first half of the day, the financial index gained 1.42 percent, the services index 1.44 percent, the industrial index 1.25 percent, and the technology index 1.37 percent.
Compared to the previous close, 86 of the stocks included in the BIST 100 index rose, while 12 lost value. The most actively traded stocks were Yapı ve Kredi Bankası, Türk Hava Yolları, Türkiye İş Bankası (C), Akbank, and Ereğli Demir Çelik.
GOLD OUNCE PRICE AT 2,342 DOLLARS
In international markets, as of 13:00, the euro/dollar parity is at 1.0850, the sterling/dollar parity is at 1.2720, and the dollar/yen parity is at 157.30.
In the Istanbul free market, the dollar is being sold at 32.2240 liras and the euro at 34.9540 liras.
The ounce of gold is trading at 2,342 dollars in international markets with a flat trend, while a barrel of Brent crude oil is trading at 82 dollars, up 0.1 percent.
