Midday in the markets: What is the latest status for the stock market, dollar, euro, and gold? (March 5, 2024)
The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul rose by 0.4 percent in the first half of the day to 8,943.02 points. The ounce of gold is trading at 2,125 dollars in international markets, an increase of 0.4 percent.
As of 1:00 PM, the BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul increased by 35.37 points compared to the previous close. The BIST 100 index, which closed at 8,907.65 points yesterday, started the day at 8,913.41 points with an increase of 5.76 points and 0.06 percent.
During the first half of the day, the index saw a low of 8,886.06 points and a high of 8,959.50 points.
In the first half of the day, the services index decreased by 0.20 percent and the technology index by 0.14 percent, while the industrial index gained 1.38 percent and the financial index gained 0.16 percent.
Compared to the previous close, 59 of the stocks included in the BIST 100 index rose, while 36 lost value during the first half of the day. The most actively traded stocks were Tüpraş, Koza Altın İşletmeleri, Turkish Airlines, Ereğli Demir Çelik, and Emlak Konut GYO.
HOW MUCH IS GOLD IN INTERNATIONAL MARKETS?
In international markets, as of 1:00 PM, the euro/dollar parity is at 1.0850, the sterling/dollar parity is at 1.2680, and the dollar/yen parity is at 150.4.
In the Istanbul free market, the dollar is being sold at 31.6000 liras and the euro at 34.3420 liras.
The ounce of gold is trading at 2,125 dollars in international markets with a 0.4 percent increase, while a barrel of Brent crude oil is trading at 82.4 dollars with a 0.3 percent decrease.
