Ministry of Trade announces seizure of 521 million liras worth of smuggled goods
The Ministry of Trade has announced that smuggled goods worth 521 million 100 thousand liras were seized in operations conducted in Mersin and Istanbul.
The Ministry of Trade announced via social media that millions of liras worth of smuggled goods were seized in operations carried out in Istanbul and Mersin.
The statement from the Ministry of Trade is as follows;
''In two separate operations carried out by the Ministry of Trade Customs Enforcement teams as part of the fight against smuggling in the provinces of Mersin and Istanbul, smuggled goods worth 521 million 100 thousand Turkish Liras, which were attempted to be brought into Turkey illegally, were seized.
Investigations regarding the incidents are continuing under the relevant Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices.
The Ministry of Trade Customs Enforcement teams, which have dealt major blows to smugglers with successful operations, continue their fight against all types of smuggled goods with determination across the country.''
