Netflix breaks revenue and profit records in the first quarter of the year

According to the financial results shared with the public by Netflix, the company's total revenue for the first three months of 2026 reached 12.3 billion dollars, an increase of 16.2 percent compared to the same period last year. In the same quarter of 2025, this figure was recorded as 10.5 billion dollars.

Netflix's net profit figures also showed a remarkable rise. Net profit, which was 2.9 billion dollars in the first quarter of 2025, rose to 5.3 billion dollars in the same period this year, an increase of approximately 83 percent. The company's earnings per share rose from 66 cents to 1.23 dollars.

The balance sheet statement noted that the 2.8 billion dollar termination fee obtained due to the cancellation of the acquisition agreement Netflix intended to carry out with Warner Bros. also contributed to the profit increase.

According to the disclosed data, both revenue and profit figures exceeded market expectations. While the company expects a 13 percent revenue increase for the second quarter of the year, it maintained its total revenue forecast for 2026 between 50.7 billion dollars and 51.7 billion dollars.

Furthermore, the statement made by Netflix indicated that one of the company's co-founders, Reed Hastings, will not be a candidate for Chairman of the Board of Directors again when his current term expires in June, and that he will focus more on his philanthropy and personal projects from now on.
