New CBRT forecast from Goldman Sachs
Goldman Sachs expects the CBRT to conclude its interest rate hike cycle at 42.50 percent with an additional 250 basis point increase.
Following the CBRT's decision yesterday to raise the policy rate by 500 basis points, which was above expectations, Goldman Sachs announced that it expects the bank to raise the policy rate by another 250 basis points to 42.50 percent and conclude the tightening cycle.
The bank, which had previously set its forecast at 40 percent, stated that the Central Bank's decision signaled more monetary tightening than anticipated.
In the bank's statement, it was noted, "We expect the Committee to raise the policy rate by 250 basis points at the December meeting and conclude the interest rate hike cycle at 42.50 percent."
