New minimum wage decision published in the Official Gazette

The decision states that the Minimum Wage Determination Commission, tasked with determining the minimum wage for all workers employed under an employment contract, whether or not they are covered by the Labor Law, continued its work from December 11 to December 27, in accordance with Article 39 of Labor Law No. 4857 and Article 522 of Presidential Decree No. 1 on the Presidential Organization.

It was reported that, as a result of three meetings, it was decided by majority vote—despite the opposition of worker representatives—to determine a single national minimum wage, to set the minimum wage for one day of normal work at 666 Turkish liras and 75 kuruş between January 1 and December 31, 2024, to propose the redetermination of the scope, procedures, and principles of the minimum wage support to continue it at 700 Turkish liras for the period of January to December 2024, and to publish the decision in the Official Gazette to take effect on January 1, 2024.

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan had announced at a meeting held at the Ministry that the net minimum wage for 2024 was set at 17 thousand 2 Turkish liras.
