New record expectation in gold prices: $4,000 target
DoubleLine Capital CEO Jeffrey Gundlach predicts that gold will gain value as a safe haven and that its price could reach $4,000.
DoubleLine Capital CEO and investor known as the "Bond King," Jeffrey Gundlach, predicts that gold prices could see a significant increase, potentially reaching $4,000. Gundlach stated that gold is standing out as a safe haven due to investors' increasing tendency to avoid risk.
In an interview with CNBC, Gundlach noted that gold is viewed as a safe investment tool not only for short-term speculation but also due to geopolitical uncertainties and high global debt levels. He added that the market size of physical gold-backed ETFs increased by $11 billion in April, reaching $397 billion.
Major financial institutions have also updated their expectations regarding gold prices. While Goldman Sachs set its gold price target for the end of 2025 at $3,700, UBS and Bank of America set a target of $3,500. These institutions emphasized that gold is gaining importance as a safe haven in the face of economic uncertainties and a potential slowdown.
Gundlach also painted a negative picture for the stock markets, stating that the S&P 500 index could retreat to the 4,500 level, which would mean a 20 percent decline from current levels.
