New record in automotive sales

According to data from the Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD), the automobile and light commercial vehicle market in October increased by 55.4 percent compared to October 2022, reaching 101 thousand 367 units. This figure was recorded as a record for the month of October.

In October, automobile sales increased by 74.1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 82 thousand 611 units, while the light commercial vehicle market increased by 5.5 percent to 18 thousand 756 units. The automobile and light commercial vehicle market increased by 55.7 percent compared to the 10-year average for October. The automobile market showed an increase of 64.9 percent compared to the 10-year average for October. The light commercial vehicle market increased by 25.2 percent compared to the 10-year average for October.

SALES ALREADY APPROACHING 1 MILLION IN 2023

The total Turkish automobile and light commercial vehicle market increased by 63.7 percent in the January-October period of 2023 compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 958 thousand 942 units. Thus, the year 2023 has already surpassed the annual sales figures recorded in the previous 6 years.

Automobile sales increased by 67.8 percent in the January-October period of 2023 compared to last year, reaching 749 thousand 501 units, while the light commercial vehicle market increased by 50.6 percent to 209 thousand 441 units.

As of October, 12-month sales reached 1 million 156 thousand 473.
