New record in diesel prices: Third hike in the last week
Diesel prices, which have been hiked for the third time in a week, continue to rise. Following the latest price update, the price per liter has approached 70 liras on the European side of Istanbul. There has been no change in gasoline prices.
Due to the impact of rising product prices in international markets and fluctuations in the exchange rate, another price hike has been applied to the liter price of diesel. With the 3.08 lira increase effective as of July 10, diesel began to be sold at 69.84 TL on the European side of Istanbul. A week ago, the price per liter of diesel in the same region was being offered for sale at 64.61 TL.
In the period of approximately one week, the price per liter of diesel has risen by a total of 5.23 TL with consecutive hikes. Industry representatives state that the volatility in the international market and changes in the exchange rate are directly reflected in costs, which is why fuel prices change frequently.
While no adjustments were made to gasoline prices, it was reported that they continue to be sold at their current levels. Consequently, fuel costs have increased significantly in the last week, especially for vehicle owners who use diesel.
