New restructuring period for SGK and tax debts: Installment period doubled

Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan announced the details of a new regulation that provides for the restructuring of premium and various tax debts owed to the Social Security Institution (SGK). In the legislative proposal submitted to the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), the deferral and installment period, previously applied as 36 months, has been doubled and increased to up to 72 months.

Thanks to this prepared regulation, both employers and citizens with premium or tax debts will be able to lighten their burden with long-term payment plans. In particular, for deferral transactions that can be carried out without providing collateral, the debt limit will be increased to 1 million TL.

The new restructuring system is not limited to individual debts; various tax debts of tradespeople and companies can also be restructured within the scope of this package. The application, which grants wider installment opportunities to businesses and individuals, aims to facilitate payment processes.

The scope of debts that can benefit from the restructuring is quite broad. Major public receivables such as Income Tax, Corporate Tax, Motor Vehicle Tax (MTV), traffic fines, as well as property taxes and environmental cleaning taxes paid to municipalities are also included in the regulation. In addition, various fees and similar public debts can also be paid with the 72-month installment option.

New application and payment conditions for debtors will be announced shortly. Citizens and businesses will be able to apply to the relevant institutions to benefit from the payment conveniences.
