New Year's message from the presidents of TESK and TŞOF

In a written statement, Palandöken noted that Turkey was essentially tested by natural disasters in 2023, recalling that 11 provinces were affected by the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes on February 6, and that floods and inundations in various provinces caused significant material and moral losses.

Pointing out that a collective struggle was waged against these disasters and that the country acted with a great spirit of solidarity, Palandöken stated the following:

"We have full faith that we will continue this unity in the new year, heal our wounds, and stand back up again. A new year means new hopes and new beginnings. As we enter 2024, I hope that such disasters will not be experienced again, and that we will reach the new year with health and peace as our unity and solidarity grow even stronger. I wish for the new year to be a source of health, peace, abundance, and beauty for our country and our nation. I congratulate all our citizens on the new year."

In his written statement, Fevzi Apaydın also emphasized that it had been a difficult year for the country due to the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes.

Stating that citizens lost their property and tradesmen and craftsmen lost their livelihoods in many natural disasters, Apaydın made the following assessment:

"We spent the 100th anniversary of our Republic with a heavy heart due to these events. Globally, it was a year in which innocent civilians were killed and children were massacred. As a community, we hope that such events will come to an end in the new year and that all the problems of our tradesmen drivers will be resolved. I wish for 2024 to come with goodness and peace for our truck drivers, taxi drivers, bus drivers, minibus drivers, shuttle drivers, public bus drivers, transport tradesmen, and the entire driver community, and to bring abundance and prosperity. Let us have a wonderful year in solidarity, shoulder to shoulder."
