Number of paid employees declined again in March
According to TurkStat's March data, the total number of paid employees in the industrial, construction, and trade-services sectors continued to decrease on a monthly basis. In March, the number of paid employees fell by 0.2 percent compared to the previous month, dropping to 15 million 605 thousand 996. On an annual basis, the increase remained limited.
The decline in the number of paid employees continued in March.
According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), the total number of paid employees in the industrial, construction, and trade-services sectors decreased by 0.2 percent in March 2025 compared to the previous month, falling to 15 million 605 thousand 996 people.
While there were 15 million 670 thousand 796 paid employees in January 2025, this number was seen to have fallen to 15 million 642 thousand 104 in February and to 15 million 605 thousand 996 in March.
Looking at the sub-details of paid employees; in March 2025, the number of paid employees decreased monthly by 0.7 percent in the industrial sector, decreased by 0.7 percent in the construction sector, and increased by 0.1 percent in the trade-services sector.

ANNUAL INCREASE LIMITED
The total number of paid employees in the industrial, construction, and trade-services sectors increased by 0.6 percent in March 2025 compared to the same month of the previous year. While the number of paid employees was 15 million 224 thousand 973 in the same month of the previous year, it became 15 million 320 thousand 987 in March 2025.
Looking at the sub-details of paid employees; in March 2025, the number of paid employees decreased annually by 2.6 percent in the industrial sector, remained the same in the construction sector, and increased by 2.7 percent in the trade-services sector.
