Number of people receiving social assistance from ABB exceeds 200 thousand

According to data on social assistance provided by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB)—including natural gas payment support, food, stationery, canteen, and school bus fee assistance—the number of people receiving social aid, which was 130 thousand in 2019 when Mansur Yavaş took office as ABB Mayor, has increased by 73 thousand in four years.
With the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic period, the number of people receiving social assistance from ABB reached 203 thousand as of 2023. The increase in the number of people receiving social assistance from the municipality in Ankara between 2019 and 2023 was 56 percent.
While ABB meets the needs of citizens in economic distress such as food, cleaning supplies, fuel, bread, and education, the number of social assistance application centers in Ankara is 37.
