Oil drops to $87: Discount expected for diesel

Expectations that the tension between the US and Iran could end with an agreement have caused prices in energy markets to trend downward. During this process, the price of a barrel of Brent crude oil fell to the $87 level.

In addition to the decline in oil prices, there has also been a retreat in the metric ton price of diesel in global markets. It was stated that these developments are reflected in domestic fuel prices as a discount.

According to information provided by industry sources, a discount of 4.88 TL is expected for diesel starting Tuesday. However, it was stated that due to the sliding scale (eşel mobil) system, 1.22 TL of this discount will be reflected in pump prices.

On the other hand, no price changes are currently foreseen for gasoline. Industry representatives state that if the positive trend in oil prices continues, the possibility of a discount on gasoline may also be evaluated in the coming days.
