Finance professor Özgür Demirtaşhas resigned from his position on the Akbank Board of Directors, where he had served since 2018.
Explaining the reason for his resignation on his social media account, Demirtaş announced that he left his post “of his own volition due to the intensity of his work.”

In a message shared on his X account, Demirtaş stated: “I have resigned of my own volition from the Akbank Board of Directors, which I have proudly served for 6 years, due to the intensity of my work. Please do not pay attention to any TROLL news circulating outside of this. They are all fake news. 6 years is a very long time. One does not stay in such positions for a lifetime anyway.” he included.
