A judge who opposed the decision stated in a dissenting opinion that the ruling would not be limited to consumer loans and that pensions could also be blocked for commercial loans.

According to the report by Erdoğan Süzer from Sözcü, the judge stated, "The decision makes it mandatory to accept that a pension can be blocked not only for consumer loans but also when a commercial loan is taken out or when one acts as a guarantor for a loan." He noted that this situation could lead to the salaries of fixed-income individuals living in poverty being seized by loan sharks.

TENANTS ARE ALSO AT RISK

In the dissenting opinion, a warning was issued that the ruling could also allow for the seizure of tenants' salaries. The judge stated that a blocking authorization given during a lease agreement could grant the right to seize a tenant's pension. He emphasized that while blocking is possible for bank debts, it would create a double standard if it were not possible for the debts owed to loan sharks and landlords.
