Pay raises for civil servants and retirees becoming clearer

With the announcement of inflation data for January, February, and March, the rate of the pay raise that public officials and retirees will receive in July is becoming clearer. According to data published by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), the salary increase rate is taking shape alongside the inflation data for the first half of the year.

In the period from the beginning of the year to the end of March, inflation increases of 4.84 percent (January), 2.96 percent (February), and 1.94 percent (March) were recorded, respectively. Based on this picture, the three-month raise rate for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees has already reached the 10.03 percent level. It is projected that when the first half of the year is completed, the total increase will reach 17.15 percent by June.

The raise for civil servants and civil servant retirees includes the inflation difference as well as the increase arising from the collective bargaining agreement. In the raise process for the first six months of 2026, it is estimated that the inflation difference that will occur after the 11 percent increase applied at the beginning of the year will be 5.5 percent. When the 7 percent collective bargaining raise is added in July, the total increase rate is expected to be 12.8 percent.

A change is also on the agenda for July regarding the lowest pension, which is currently at the 20 thousand TL level. If the estimated 17 percent increase occurs, the lowest pension will be raised to approximately 23 thousand 400 TL. However, the final amount will depend on the necessary legal regulation being made in July.

New inflation figures to be released for April, May, and June until the close of the first half of the year will also finalize the raise amounts. In particular, the 3 percent increase expected in April and the data that follows will determine the final level of the raise rate.

Following the sharing of the June data with the public in the first week of July, the new salaries of millions of civil servants and retirees will be determined. During this process, retirees and employees are waiting for the final data to be announced by TÜİK to learn their salaries that will be valid for the second half of the year.
