Payment schedule for retiree bonuses announced: When will they be deposited into accounts?
As the 2026 Eid al-Adha approaches, the payment amount and distribution schedule for the holiday bonuses, which millions of retirees have been eagerly awaiting, have been clarified.
Important statements have been made by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security regarding the holiday bonus payments that concern millions of retirees. The Ministry announced that preparations for transferring the bonuses of retirees and beneficiaries to their accounts before Eid al-Adha are nearing completion.
BONUS AMOUNT REMAINS UNCHANGED
Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan, in his latest statement regarding the 2026 Eid al-Adha bonuses, announced that the holiday bonus to be paid to retirees this year will be the same as the amount given during the last Eid al-Fitr. Accordingly, those receiving a retirement pension will receive a bonus of 4,000 TL per person for this holiday as well.
PAYMENT DATES HAVE BEEN SET
With only a few days left until Eid al-Adha according to the religious calendar, it has also become clear when the retiree bonus payments will be made. While the eve of the holiday falls on Tuesday, May 26, it is anticipated that the bonuses will be deposited starting from the beginning of the week before the holiday and will be completed by Friday, May 22, at the latest. The Ministry stated that the final payment schedule will be announced by the Social Security Institution (SGK) in the coming days.
WHO ARE THE BENEFICIARIES?
The holiday bonus is paid not only to retirees but also to various social security beneficiaries. This year, as in previous years, those receiving old-age, disability, and death pensions—primarily SSK, Bağ-Kur, and Emekli Sandığı retirees—as well as those receiving permanent incapacity income, relatives of martyrs, veterans, security guards, champion athletes, and civilian beneficiaries affected by terrorism will be able to benefit from this payment.
EID AL-ADHA CALENDAR
In 2026, the eve of Eid al-Adha will be on Tuesday, May 26. The first day of the holiday will begin on Wednesday, May 27, and will last for a total of four days. The official holiday dates are as follows:
- May 26 Tuesday: Eve
- May 27 Wednesday: 1st Day
- May 28 Thursday: 2nd Day
- May 29 Friday: 3rd Day
- May 30 Saturday: 4th Day
The 4,000 TL holiday bonus is expected to be deposited into accounts via PTT and banks before the holiday, and the transactions are expected to be completed by May 26 at the latest. The payment plan and details will be announced on the official website of the SGK.
