Police intervention in public employees' strike
Civil servants affiliated with the United Public-Work Confederation (Birleşik Kamu-İş) faced police intervention during a strike action held due to the economic crisis.
The United Public-Work Confederation (Birleşik Kamu-İş), which is struggling with economic difficulties, went on strike today with approximately 200 thousand members. During this action, the group, which included the confederation's Chairman Orhan Yıldırım, was subjected to police intervention in front of the TBMM Dikmen Gate.
Tense moments occurred at the scene as union officials and members attempted to voice their demands. The police blockaded the group for security reasons and intervened.
