President Erdoğan announced: Will there be a welfare share for the minimum wage?

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke about the minimum wage announced yesterday. Erdoğan did not touch upon whether a welfare share would be added to the minimum wage and did not make any statement on this matter.

In his speech at his party's Provincial Heads Meeting, Erdoğan also made statements regarding the crash of a Libyan delegation's plane in Ankara. He stated, "I wish God's mercy upon the Libyan Chief of General Staff and the Libyan delegation who were martyred in the plane crash yesterday. I convey my condolences to Libya. The necessary investigation into this tragic incident has been initiated, and detailed information will be provided by our relevant ministries."

Addressing the commission reports and the opposition's stance, Erdoğan said, "As the People's Alliance, we have adopted a constructive and solution-oriented approach. The opposition, as always, has chosen the easy way out."

Erdoğan wished for the new minimum wage to be beneficial for workers and employers, noting that an increase of 27 percent has been implemented. He added that the additional payment, which was applied as 1000 liras last year, will continue as 1270 liras next year.
