Price of 200-gram bread in Elazığ increased from 8 to 10 liras
The price of a 200-gram loaf of bread has been increased from 8 liras to 10 liras by the Bakers' Chamber in Elazığ.
The Elazığ Bakers' Chamber has decided to increase the price of bread across the city.
As a result, the price of a 200-gram loaf of bread has risen from 8 liras to 10 liras.
Nevzat Kızılelma, a baker in the historic Covered Bazaar, stated that he does not support the price hikes but noted that their expenses have increased and that they would suffer losses if they did not raise prices.
Kızılelma said, "There has been no change in the weight of the bread. It seems there is a standard practice across Turkey, but there are provinces that show variations from time to time. The price was 8 liras and it has become 10 liras."
