The items with the highest price increases and decreases in retail product prices in Istanbul for the December 2025 period have been determined. While antiseptic products topped the list for price increases, airline tickets saw the largest decline.

Retail price data for December 2025 revealed which products consumers in Istanbul faced rising costs for. In the price index, which consists of 336 main products in total, 186 products saw price increases, while 59 products saw decreases.

In the last month of the year, antiseptic products in the health expenditure group drew attention with a 51.95 percent increase, placing them at the top of the list. Fresh beans followed antiseptic products with a 46.57 percent increase, and cucumbers with a 40.17 percent increase. In addition, price increases were recorded for grapes at 25.52 percent, eggplant at 18.82 percent, beef at 10.81 percent, and zucchini at 10.50 percent.

Looking at transportation expenditures, there was a significant decline in airline ticket prices. Airline tickets stood out as the product with the largest price decrease in December, with a 28.52 percent drop. While cauliflower prices became 24.94 percent cheaper and oranges 20.01 percent cheaper, price decreases were observed for leeks at 18.63 percent, lemons at 17.23 percent, curly lettuce at 15.90 percent, Charleston peppers at 11.48 percent, and green peppers at 10.52 percent.

Across Istanbul, the consumer price index showed a 1.23 percent increase in December, while the annual rise in prices was recorded at 37.68 percent.
