Real Sector Confidence Index released!

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) data shows that the non-seasonally adjusted Real Sector Confidence Index increased by 1.8 points compared to the previous month, reaching 100.9.

Values below 100 in the index indicate a pessimistic outlook where the confidence of the real sector representatives covered by the survey regarding economic activities has decreased, while values above 100 indicate an optimistic outlook.

DECREASED IN JANUARY

In January 2024, the seasonally adjusted Real Sector Confidence Index decreased by 0.5 points compared to the previous month, reaching 102.9.

AFFECTED IN THE DIRECTION OF A DECREASE

When examining the diffusion indices of the survey questions that make up the index, evaluations regarding finished goods stock, current total order quantity, total order quantity in the last three months, and fixed capital investment expenditure affected the index in an increasing direction, while evaluations regarding total employment in the next three months, the general trend, production volume in the next three months, and export order quantity in the next three months affected the index in a decreasing direction.

The seasonally adjusted Capacity Utilization Rate across the manufacturing industry decreased by 0.9 points compared to the previous month, observed at 76.4 percent.

The non-seasonally adjusted Capacity Utilization Rate (CUR) decreased by 1.3 points compared to the previous month, recorded at 76.2 percent.
