Regulation including 5,000 lira bonus for working retirees is in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey

The budget negotiations, which began on December 11, have concluded in the General Assembly. Following the budget negotiations, the General Assembly continues its work without a break. The discussions on the omnibus bill, which includes regulations regarding the economy and a one-time payment of 5,000 lira to working retirees, began today at 15:00 in the General Assembly, presided over by AK Party Şanlıurfa Deputy Bekir Bozdağ. The remaining articles of the 86-article proposal, 43 of which were accepted before the budget negotiations, will be addressed.
In the General Assembly, TBMM Deputy Speaker Bozdağ commemorated the 12 martyrs who lost their lives in Operation Claw-Lock and offered his condolences. Following this, Bozdağ gave the floor to 20 deputies who entered the system within the framework of the discussions, and then to the Group Deputy Chairs.

Speaking on behalf of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Group Deputy Chair and Sakarya Deputy Muhammet Levent Bülbül spoke about the 12 soldiers who were martyred in Operation Claw-Lock. Bülbül stated, “We strongly condemn the treacherous and vile terrorist organization PKK, its collaborators, and those who patronize them. Dear deputies, the question asked by our martyr from Tokat, Yasin Karaca, to his commander, 'What is our path?', and the commander's answer, 'The path of martyrdom,' and our heroic martyr's words, 'Continue until Kızılelma,' is the blessed path of the Turkish nation. The dignified stance, faith, and nobility shown by Mehmet Aslan, the father of our martyr from Elazığ, Kemal Aslan, as soon as he received the news of his son's martyrdom, saying, 'My son has become a martyr, how happy for me,' has demonstrated the character of our noble nation. For the Mehmets, for the lions, for the great Turkish nation, martyrdom is a supreme wish. How happy we are that we have a noble nation that says, 'May God not let our state suffer,' in the mosque courtyard, in the military barracks, at weddings, in villages and cities, in the most remote corners of Anatolia, in fires, floods, and earthquakes; the name of this nation is the Turkish nation. For the Turkish nation, there is no mourning, there is revenge. We owe eternal gratitude and thanks to our heroes who were martyred for the oppressed, for justice, for peace and security, and even so that those without a homeland may live comfortably in this sacred land.”

“I CONDEMN THE TERRORIST ORGANIZATION PKK ONCE AGAIN”

Speaking on behalf of the Republican People's Party (CHP) Group, Mersin Deputy Ali Mahir Başarır began his speech by commemorating Mehmet Akif Ersoy, who wrote the lyrics of the National Anthem. Stating that as the Republican People's Party, they are the deputies of a party whose leader challenged the world during the National Struggle, Başarır said, “We have never been afraid of any threat, never shied away from any insult, we have not bent an inch, we have not taken a step back. Let everyone know this: our martyrs in Operation Claw-Lock are a great pain for all of us, for our country. I wish them God's mercy once again. I condemn the separatist terrorist organization PKK once again, and we have published this in our statement as well. Actually, I did not want to talk about these issues today, but under this roof, in this Parliament, no one can threaten any group or any deputy. We are the Republican People's Party. We defend the unitary structure and indivisible integrity of the 85 million, the Republic of Turkey, and this country to the end, and we would give our lives for even a centimeter of our land, but we walk in this street from Osmaniye to Edirne, from Edirne to Trabzon, in all 81 provinces, all districts, all neighborhoods, without protection, with firm steps, and without hesitation. Our foreheads are clear, our heads are held high.”

“Our governments under the leadership of our President have grown our country and our economy by 3.5 times in total”

TBMM Deputy Speaker Bozdağ gave the floor to AKP Group Deputy Chair Abdülhamit Gül. Stating that they completed the intense budget work yesterday, Gül said, "May the first budget of the Century of Turkey be auspicious. This budget is an investment budget, a development budget, a budget to heal the wounds of the earthquake. It is the budget of our workers, farmers, tradesmen, students, youth, and women; in other words, the budget of our 85 million citizens and our people. Since 2002, our governments under the leadership of our President have grown our country and our economy by 3.5 times in total. Despite the economic contraction in the world, and despite the earthquake and pandemic we experienced, there is a Turkey that is growing steadily. We have reached the highest figure in our history in our employment-friendly growth strategy; we have provided 31 million 800 thousand jobs. We became bread and sustenance for our nation. Again, we increased the rate of domesticity and nationalization in the defense industry from 20 percent to 80 percent. We built bridges of hearts with transportation investments exceeding 4 trillion lira. Our nation knows very well where we came from and where we are now."

Expressing that they have set out their goals in the election manifesto, development plan, and the Medium-Term Program (OVP) of the AKP, Gül said, "We will increase our 245 billion dollar exports to 400 billion dollars in 2028. We will reach a national income size of 1.5 trillion dollars. We will increase the per capita national income to 16 thousand dollars. We will gradually reduce inflation to single digits. We will create new employment areas for our farmers. We will continue to stand by our youth and women with the Family and Youth Fund. We will reduce the 9,000-day premium requirement for our tradesmen to 7,200 for retirement. And we will achieve all of these again under the leadership of our President, with our cabinet, our strong economic management, and the People's Alliance; we will resolve our problems and take steps that will provide our citizens with a prosperous living space. We will continue to stand by our employees, laborers, and retirees. With the law we will discuss today, payments of 5,000 lira had been made to 10 million 429 thousand of our retirees. It is envisaged that a payment of 5,000 lira will also be made to approximately 5 million of our retirees, our working retirees. We will enact this into law and deposit it into our retirees' accounts as soon as possible within a few days; our working retirees, especially tradesmen and BAĞ-KUR retirees, will be included in the scope in this sense. We will continue our efforts to increase the purchasing power of workers, farmers, retirees, and civil servants, and we will successfully complete our work to ensure they are not crushed by inflation," he assessed.
