Sacrificial animal prices determined as the holiday approaches!

There is less than two months left until Eid al-Adha. While citizens are curious about the 2024 prices for sacrificial animals, President of Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş provided an explanation regarding the matter. 

Erbaş stated regarding the cost of proxy-based animal sacrifice, "For this year, the cost of proxy-based animal sacrifice has been set at 11 thousand 750 liras domestically and 4 thousand 750 liras abroad."

Sacrificial animal prices can vary depending on whether the animal is well-fed, its weight, health, and breed. The price list for sacrificial animals has slowly begun to be determined.

PRICES IN ISTANBUL

Due to rising meat prices in 2024, the prices of sacrificial animals have also shown a significant increase compared to last year.

In Istanbul, an average large cattle is expected to be sold for between 80 thousand and 160 thousand TL, while a small cattle is expected to be sold for between 7 thousand and 18 thousand TL.

In Istanbul, the live weight price per kilogram for an average large cattle is expected to be between 280 and 340 TL, and for small cattle, between 250 and 300 TL. Additionally, share prices for small cattle are projected to be between 13-20 thousand TL, and for large cattle between 20-30 thousand TL.

PRICES IN ANKARA

In Ankara, a large cattle is expected to be sold for between 90 thousand and 120 thousand TL, while a small cattle is expected to be sold for between 8 thousand and 14 thousand TL.

The price for a sacrificial share is expected to be around 14-16 thousand TL for 20-25 kilograms.

IN OTHER CITIES...

According to estimates in Anatolia, the live weight price per kilogram is expected to be 280 liras for a bull, 270 liras for a heifer that has lost its breeding quality, 250 liras for a cow that has lost its breeding quality, 250 liras for a female sheep, and 280 liras for a ram.

It is projected that slaughter fees will be set at 5 thousand liras for large cattle, 1500 liras for small cattle, 3 thousand liras for skinning fees, 2 thousand liras for portioning fees, and 15 liras for meat grinding fees.

The expected price ranges for large cattle are as follows;

Bull prices are thought to be between 80 thousand TL and 300 thousand TL,

Heifer prices are thought to be between 90 thousand TL and 250 thousand TL.

The expected price range for small cattle is;

Sheep prices are expected to be between 7 thousand 400 TL and 15 thousand 500 TL.

Ram prices are expected to be between 8 thousand 400 TL and 18 thousand 500 TL.

SHARE AVERAGE

The price of a sacrificial share is expected to vary on average between 18,000 TL and 30,000 TL in all provinces.

This amount may vary depending on the breed and live weight of the animal.
