The government has taken its second step regarding the wage increase offer in the collective bargaining negotiations, which are being closely watched by approximately 600,000 workers employed in public institutions.
Approximately 600,000 public sector workers and their families, employed in many public institutions and organizations such as banks, highways, power generation plants, railways, and hospitals, had been focused on the wage negotiations and the new offer to be presented by the government.
The government, through the Turkish Heavy Industry and Service Sector Public Employers' Union (TÜHİS), conveyed its second offer to the unions today.
In the new meeting held with Türk-İş and Hak-İş, TÜHİS proposed a 17 percent increase for the first 6 months and a 10 percent increase for the second 6 months.
