She started her own business after failing to get appointed

Cansu Maden, originally from Sinop, studied operating room nursing in Istanbul. After graduating, she returned to her hometown of Sinop and prepared for the KPSS (Public Personnel Selection Examination) to practice her profession. When she was not appointed, she decided to start her own business instead of working in the private sector. She has been producing designer home textile products for three years at the shop she opened on Batur Street in Sinop.
Saying, "I'm glad I did it," Cansu Maden stated, "I studied with the dream of practicing my profession, but it didn't happen. I thought I should start my own business instead of working for minimum wage in the private sector. I used to do amigurumi and sewing as a hobby at home. I started sharing my work on social media. When I started receiving orders from people who saw them, I began taking on outside work. I continued like this for a year. Then, while I was thinking about what it would be like to open a shop, I came across this place. I thought it would be nice. My sister also supported me. We work together. We started with one machine. We currently have four machines. We sew home textile products. We produce items such as duvet cover sets, throw pillows, tablecloths, runners, placemats, baby duvet cover sets, embroidered hospital discharge sets with names, and baby blankets. We produce on order. We also sew tablecloths, runners, chair cushions, and embroidered work uniforms for institutions. We sew whatever is requested according to customer demand. We also take orders online. People who see our work on our social media accounts reach out to us. We produce and ship according to their requests. When I started, I didn't have very high expectations. I just said, 'Let it cover its own costs.' Thank God, we have been continuing for three years. We aim to grow the business over time and provide employment. When you love what you do, success comes naturally. I say I'm glad I had the courage to open this place.
