Sinan Oğan says 'We are experiencing difficulties in the economy' and gives a date

Dr. Sinan Oğan attended and delivered a speech at the Turkey Alliance Party provincial congress held at the Balıkesir Avlu Congress Center.

Emphasizing the importance of preparing locally for the general elections to be held in 2028 if there is no early election, Oğan said in his speech,

“We need to start preparing now for the upcoming general elections, starting from the local level. We all witnessed the significant role the Ata Alliance played in the past elections. The fact that we played such a major role despite being newer parties shows us that we need to prepare better for the future elections.”

"WE NEED TO TIGHTEN OUR BELTS"

Sinan Oğan also drew attention to the ongoing economic problems and stated that the steps taken in the economic sphere would reflect as an improvement towards the end of this year. Oğan said, “While our country is fighting terrorism on one hand, it is also continuing its economic struggle. Do we not have problems? We do. We need to support the correct policies currently being implemented in the economy.

As the old saying goes, we need to tighten our belts.

We will experience some difficulties, but I believe that we will see the results of the economic policy being implemented today towards the end of the year.”

"OUR BORDERS USED TO BE LIKE A SIEVE"

Touching upon refugees and migrant smuggling in his speech, Sinan Oğan stated that illegal refugees were being sent back, but that there was a weakness in communicating this to the citizens. Sinan Oğan concluded his remarks with the following statements:

“In my meetings with the Ministry of Interior, the figures regarding the fight against migrant smugglers are quite satisfactory. While our borders used to be like a sieve, I can say that now only a very limited number of illegal migrants are entering our country. Furthermore, I can state with peace of mind, because I know the figures, that the illegal migrants caught are being sent to repatriation centers and subsequently sent back to their countries.

There is one shortcoming, and I have conveyed this to the relevant people: you are engaged in such a large-scale operation and sending back a large number of migrants, but you are not publicizing it.

Our citizens sometimes ask me, 'What happened, the migrants were supposed to be sent back?' and I tell them they are being sent. They then ask, 'Why don't we know about it?' So, it is not enough to just do this work; there is also a need to announce that this work is being done.”
