Stock market breaks new record by surpassing 10,000-point threshold

The Borsa Istanbul 100 index started the week at a record level with a 0.77 percent increase, then continued its gains and tested above 10,000 points for the first time in its history.

Stock market breaks new record by surpassing 10,000-point threshold

Borsa Istanbul, which closed last week with records, began the new week by renewing its peak and subsequently continued its rise, testing 10,000 points for the first time in its history.

As of 12:15 PM, the BIST 100 index was at 9,996 points with a 0.81 percent gain. From a technical perspective, the 10,000 and 10,100 levels are resistance, while 9,900 and 9,800 points are support levels for the BIST 100 index.

At the opening, the banking index rose by 0.75 percent and the holding index by 0.90 percent; at these moments, they were trading with increases of 1.38 percent and 0.96 percent, respectively.

On Friday, the Borsa Istanbul 100 index followed a bullish trend and closed the day at 9,915 points with a 2.05 percent increase.
