Stock market opens the day with gains
The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul opened the day with a 0.07 percent increase at 8,480.29 points.
At the opening, the BIST 100 index rose by 6.00 points and 0.07 percent compared to the previous close, reaching 8,480.29 points.
The banking index recorded a 0.07 percent increase, and the holding index rose by 0.07 percent. Among sector indices, tourism was the top gainer with 0.72 percent, while mining was the biggest loser with 0.08 percent.
Yesterday, the BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul followed a volatile course and completed the day with a 0.03 percent gain at 8,474.30 points.
Analysts stated that global equity markets are following a mixed course as pricing strengthens regarding the possibility that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) may keep policy interest rates steady for longer than expected, adding that all eyes are on the Fed's interest rate decision today and the statements to be made by Fed Chair Jerome Powell after the meeting.
