Borsa Istanbul opened for trading with a 6.87 percent decline on the morning of the day when approximately 100 people, including Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, were detained. Following the rapid decline, all indices triggered a circuit breaker.
The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul opened the day at 10,060.48 points, down 6.87 percent.
At the opening, the BIST 100 index fell by 741.75 points and 6.87 percent compared to the previous close, dropping to 10,060.48 points. The banking index lost 7.02 percent and the holding index lost 6.69 percent. While all sector indices declined, the biggest loser was the communications sector with 7.56 percent.
