Stock market starts the week with gains
The BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul started the week with a 1.85 percent rise, reaching 7,649.39 points. At the opening, the BIST 100 index increased by 138.71 points, gaining 1.85 percent to reach 7,649.39 points.
The banking index recorded a 1.82 percent increase, and the holding index rose by 1.77 percent. Among sector indices, the insurance sector was the top gainer with 2.95 percent, while the sports sector was the only one to decline, falling by 0.15 percent.
On Friday, the BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul followed a bearish trend, closing the day with a 3.33 percent loss at 7,510.68 points.
OPENING FOREIGN EXCHANGE PRICES IN THE FREE MARKET
In the Istanbul free market, the dollar started the week at 28.0470 liras, and the euro at 29.6620 liras. The dollar, bought at 28.0450 liras, is being sold at 28.0470 liras. The selling price for the euro, bought at 29.6600 liras, was set at 29.6620 liras. On Friday, the selling price of the dollar was 28.0060 liras, and the selling price of the euro was 29.6380 liras.
