Strong increase in China's foreign exchange reserves in January
China's foreign exchange reserves reached a level of 3 trillion 399 billion dollars at the end of January, marking a significant increase.
The State Administration of Foreign Exchange of China has released its foreign exchange reserve data for January 2026.
According to official statements, the country's foreign exchange reserves saw an increase of 41.2 billion dollars compared to the previous month. Thus, total reserves rose to 3 trillion 399 billion dollars, recording an increase of 1.23 percent.
The statement noted that there was a decline in the US dollar index in the first month of the year and a general rise in asset prices in global financial markets.
It was emphasized that this increase in foreign exchange reserves occurred due to the combined effect of exchange transactions and changes in asset values in the markets.
China continues to maintain its leadership among countries with the highest foreign exchange reserves in the world. The monthly increase observed in the reserves once again demonstrates that the country holds a strong position in terms of financial stability.
