The Grand National Assembly of Turkey prepares for budget negotiations
Parliament is preparing for an intense work schedule this week. The 2024 Central Government Budget Law Proposal will begin to be discussed in the General Assembly tomorrow. During the 14-day negotiations, the General Assembly will meet without interruption, including on Saturdays and Sundays.
The Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) is preparing for budget negotiations.
Discussions on the budget proposal will begin tomorrow with opening speeches.
The budgets of public institutions and organizations will be addressed. There will be 14 days of uninterrupted work. The negotiations will continue without a break, including on Saturdays and Sundays, until December 24.
NEGOTIATIONS WILL BE HELD IN 10 ROUNDS
Negotiations on the budgets and final accounts of public administrations will be held in 10 rounds. On the first day of the discussions, speeches will be made on behalf of the government and political party groups.
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz will present the Presidency's budget.
Group Chairman Abdullah Güler and Deputy Chairman Efkan Ala will take the podium on behalf of the AKP.
Chairman Özgür Özel will speak on behalf of the CHP, while Group Deputy Chairmen Erkan Akçay and Levent Bülbül will speak for the MHP. Group Chairman Koray Aydın and İzmir Deputy Ümit Özlale are expected to take the podium on behalf of the İYİ Party. On behalf of the Saadet Party, Group Deputy Chairman Bülent Kaya and Istanbul Deputy Selim Temurci will address the General Assembly.
Party groups and the government will each have 60 minutes of speaking time.
Budgets of 12 ministries will be discussed
In the first week of the budget marathon in the General Assembly, the budgets of 12 ministries will be discussed.
In the second week, the budgets of 5 ministries and the Presidency will be discussed.
The relevant ministers will be present in the General Assembly during the negotiations.
No visitors will be admitted to Parliament
During the budget negotiation process in the General Assembly, no other laws will be brought to the agenda, and political party group meetings will not be held.
Between December 11 and 24, when the budget negotiations take place, no visitors will be admitted to Parliament.
