US indices closed Wednesday with sharp losses, while the Nasdaq 100 index fell by 2.4 percent. Futures indicate that the losses may continue. Nasdaq 100 futures are down 1.1 percent, and S&P 500 futures are down 0.7 percent.

Asia-Pacific indices are also being affected by the low risk appetite. Losses of over 1 percent are being observed in Japanese indices. The loss in the South Korean Kospi has exceeded 2 percent. The MSCI Asia Pacific index is bracing for its sharpest decline in the last week.

Following the increase in geopolitical risks and the return of oil prices to an upward trend, the US 10-year bond yield is approaching 5 percent again, standing at 4.96 percent in the morning hours.

The Bloomberg Dollar Index is up 0.2 percent at 1,279 points. The Dollar/TL exchange rate was trading at 28.1457 in the morning hours. Low risk appetite is also pushing gold prices higher. Spot gold rose 0.5 percent to find buyers at 1,988 dollars per ounce.
