The market landscape shifted this week on the Borsa: Here are the top gainers and losers

The easing of tensions between the US and Iran in global markets, along with an increase in market risk appetite, led to upward movements in domestic indices. While developments such as statements by US President Donald Trump and the potential IPO of SpaceX guided investor pricing, interest rate decisions were closely monitored domestically.

BIST 100 ENDED THE WEEK WITH GAINS

The BIST 100 Index started the week at 13,590 points and closed at 13,938 points, marking a 1.78% increase. The index's rise since the beginning of the year has reached 24%. Throughout last week, the index saw a low of 13,567 and a high of 14,125 points.

BANKING STOCKS STOOD OUT

While the banking index drew attention with a 10.05% gain, the holding index recorded a 1.45% increase. Conversely, the industrial index fell by 2.26% during the same week, resulting in losses for investors.

TOP GAINING STOCKS OF THE WEEK

Among the stocks in the BIST 100, the highest weekly return came from Katılım Evim (KTLEV). This stock's return was 16.09%. It was followed by Yapı Kredi Bankası (YKBNK) with a 13.39% increase and Akbank (AKBNK) with 12.56%.

STOCKS WITH THE MOST VALUE LOSS

On the other hand, the stock that lost the most value this week was Margün Enerji (MAGEN), maintaining its position from last week. MAGEN's loss was recorded at 33.33%. Astor Enerji (ASTOR) with 16.25% and Fenerbahçe (FENER) with 15.82% were also among the stocks that lost value.

COMPANIES WITH THE HIGHEST MARKET CAPITALIZATION

There was no change in the ranking of companies with the highest market capitalization on Borsa Istanbul. Aselsan (ASELS) remained at the top of the list with a value of 1 trillion 692 billion 900 million TL, followed by Destek Finans Faktoring (DSTKF) with a market capitalization of approximately 870 billion TL, and Garanti BBVA (GARAN) with 570 billion TL.

ASTOR ENERJI RANKED FIRST IN TRADING VOLUME

In terms of trading volume, Astor Enerji (ASTOR) was the most traded stock of the week with 49 billion 647 million TL. Türk Hava Yolları (THYAO) with 42 billion 610 million TL and Aselsan (ASELS) with 40 billion 172 million TL rounded out the top three.

Looking at the weekly data, it is once again evident how influential sectoral differences and company-based movements are for market actors, with the activity in banking shares standing out in particular.
