The top gaining and losing stocks of the week on the stock exchange have been announced

During the week of June 14-19, global markets kept a close eye on both geopolitical developments and messages from major central banks. As markets sought direction, particularly while monitoring signals of de-escalation between the US and Iran, inflation concerns and decisions by central banks, led by the Fed, also proved influential.

In this environment of uncertainty, investors in Borsa İstanbul focused on the performance of the BIST 100 index. The index began the new week at 14,359 points, with a weekly low of 14,251 points and a high of 14,876 points. It closed the week at 14,734 points, marking a gain of 5.71%.

Banking sector stocks earned their investors a 9.98% return last week. Holding company stocks finished the week with a 4.48% increase, while industrial companies saw a 2.44% rise.

TOP GAINING STOCKS OF THE WEEK

Among the companies included in the BIST 100 index, Odaş Elektrik (ODAS) stood out as the week's top gainer with a 26.55% premium. Pasifik GMYO (PSGYO) placed second with a 23.08% increase, and Destek Finans Faktoring (DSTKF) took third place with a 22.49% rise.

Other notable gains of the week included companies from various sectors, and these stocks attracted significant interest from investors.

THE WEEK'S LOSERS

On the negative side, Girişim Elektrik Sanayi (GESAN), which was also among the stocks that lost the most value the previous week, became the stock that fell the most with a 10.55% decline. This was followed by Reeder Teknoloji (REEDR) with an 8.17% drop and Europower Enerji (EUPWR) with a 7.10% loss.

The decline in these stocks, which investors have been following closely recently, was linked to sectoral developments and market dynamics.

MOST VALUABLE COMPANIES ON THE STOCK EXCHANGE

In terms of market capitalization, Aselsan (ASELS) maintained its first-place position with 1 trillion 835 billion 400 million TL. Destek Finans Faktoring (DSTKF) also drew attention in this area, crossing the 1 trillion threshold to reach a market value of 1 trillion 66 billion 666 million TL, securing second place. Garanti BBVA (GARAN) came in third with 603 billion TL.

STOCKS WITH THE HIGHEST TRADING VOLUME

The stock with the highest trading volume was Turkish Airlines (THYAO), which finished the week with a trading volume of 65 billion 624 million TL. Astor Enerji (ASTOR) followed in second place with 51 billion 158 million TL, while Akbank (AKBNK) was the third most actively traded stock with a volume of 42 billion 434 million TL.

In light of the weekly data, investors in Borsa İstanbul continue to closely monitor risks as well as profit opportunities.
