The top-performing investment vehicle of the week has been revealed: Stock market races to the top, gold declines

The standout investment vehicle on Borsa İstanbul this week was stocks. Investors closed the week with profits as the BIST 100 index rose by 5.71 percent. After dipping to a low of 14,251.51 points, the index finished the week at 14,734.50 points, offering significant gains to its investors.

On the other hand, in the foreign exchange market, the US dollar gained 0.39 percent on a weekly basis, rising to the 46.4450 TL level. The Euro/TL pair finished the week at 53.2770 TL, with a loss of 0.55 percent.

Gold investors, meanwhile, faced losses this week. The gram selling price of 24-karat bullion gold in the Grand Bazaar fell by 0.55 percent to 6 thousand 198 liras. The Republic gold coin fell by 0.55 percent and was sold at 41 thousand 777 liras. Quarter gold closed at 10 thousand 382 liras, declining by 0.55 percent from last week's level of 10 thousand 836 liras.

Investment funds presented a positive picture for their investors this week with an increase of 2.76 percent, while pension funds rose by 3.42 percent. Looking at fund types, equity funds were the top performers among investment funds with a 5.63 percent rise.

In short, while those who invested in stocks and certain funds finished the week with gains, those who invested in gold and the euro faced losses.
